These are silkscreened fused glass 12" square by about 1/4" thick platters slumped into a sushi-style mold, making them about 2" high at the corners. I create the artwork for them, make the screens and print the design onto Bullseye glass with fine enamel powders mixed with a medium. From here, I stack the printed design and it's coordinating colored glass with another layer of glass for durability, then fuse + anneal them in my kiln. Once the piece is fused, the image is indelible - it is now one piece of glass and will not ever rub off. I cold-work them to refine the edges, then put them back in the kiln to slump into a mold. Each dish spends about 24 hours fusing/slumping/annealing in the kiln.
12" platters are special order, please allow 1-2 additional weeks to make and ship.
Every piece is made here in my studio by me - please note that platters may vary slightly from the images here due to their handmade nature. They are food safe, and prefer to be hand washed. These make great wedding or housewarming gifts!
